Official Membership Rules

AFRICA SOLAR HUB (ASH)

ARTICLE 1 : PURPOSE

These rules define the conditions of membership, rights, obligations, and terms of participation for members within the Africa Solar Hub.

ASH is a pan-African platform aiming to:

  • Structure the African solar market
  • Promote quality and compliance standards
  • Facilitate access to projects, funding, and opportunities
  • Encourage innovation and collaboration among actors

ARTICLE 2 : CATEGORIES OF MEMBERS

The following can join ASH:

  • Companies in the solar sector (Installers, Equipment suppliers, Consulting firms)
  • Institutions and organizations (NGOs, Public institutions)
  • Technical and financial partners (Investors and financial partners)
  • Independent experts and consultants

ARTICLE 3 : MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS

3.1 General conditions

  • Be legally constituted (Trade Register or equivalent)
  • Have an activity related to energy, solar, or associated services
  • Provide accurate and verifiable information

3.2 Application file

The applicant must submit:

  • Duly completed ASH evaluation form
  • Administrative and tax documents
  • Company presentation
  • Technical references and completed projects

3.3 Validation process

  • Analysis of the file by ASH
  • Allocation of a score and a level
  • Notification of the decision (acceptance, conditional, or rejection)

ASH reserves the right to reject any non-compliant application.

ARTICLE 4 : CLASSIFICATION OF MEMBERS

Members are classified according to their compliance level, based on an internal scoring system:

Level Description
🔰 Standard Member Basic compliance validated
🥈 Certified Member Technical skills validated
🥇 Premium Member High level, eligible for strategic projects

ARTICLE 5 : RIGHTS OF MEMBERS

Members enjoy the following rights (varying by level):

  • Access to the ASH platform
  • Visibility in the directory of actors
  • Access to calls for tenders and opportunities
  • Participation in ASH events and programs
  • Access to tools (solar calculator, data, resources)

ARTICLE 6 : OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERS

Every member commits to:

6.1 Compliance and transparency

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

6.2 Technical quality

  • Carry out installations complying with standards (IEC, CE, etc.)
  • Ensure the quality and safety of projects

6.3 Ethics and behavior

  • Respect the ASH code of conduct
  • Refrain from any fraudulent or deceptive practice
  • Respect clients and partners

6.4 Service and responsibility

  • Provide after-sales service
  • Respect contractual commitments

ARTICLE 7 : CONTROL AND EVALUATION

ASH reserves the right to:

  • Periodically evaluate members
  • Verify completed projects
  • Request additional supporting documents
  • Conduct technical audits

The member's level can be revised at any time.

ARTICLE 8 : SANCTIONS

In case of non-compliance with these rules, ASH may apply the following sanctions, decided after analysis of the file:

  • Warning
  • Temporary suspension
  • Downgrading of level
  • Permanent exclusion

ARTICLE 9 : CONFIDENTIALITY

Information provided by members is treated confidentially, except under legal obligation or with the member's consent.

ARTICLE 10 : USE OF THE ASH BRAND

Authorized members may use the mention:

  • "Member of Africa Solar Hub"
  • "ASH Certified" (according to the level)

Any abusive use is strictly prohibited.

ARTICLE 11 : DURATION AND RENEWAL

Membership is valid for a period of 12 months. It is renewable subject to compliance with the requirements and a re-evaluation if necessary.

ARTICLE 12 : TERMINATION

The member can request termination at any time. ASH can terminate membership in case of serious breach of obligations.
